Verdict Reached in Influencer Halley Kate's Assault Trial Nearly 2 Years After She Was Punched by a Stranger

The man accused of assaulting Halley Kate has been found guilty nearly two years after the incident occurred on the streets of New York City.
Per New York Supreme Criminal Court court records, the trial concluded on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Defendant Skiboky Stora was found guilty on every charge he was facing, including assault and aggravated harassment. He originally pleaded not guilty to all counts. His sentencing date is scheduled for April 14.
Following the verdict, Kate posted a TikTok to share the news with her 1.6 million followers. The brief clip saw the influencer, 25, lip-syncing alongside overlaying text, which read, "Just got the phone call that the man who hit me in the head was found guilty and taken to jail."

In her caption, Kate added, "He’s off the streets thank god ladies."
On March 25, 2024, Kate shared a video recorded just after the assault took place. "I was literally just walking, and a man came up and punched me in the face. Oh my god, it hurts so bad. I can't even talk," she recounted, showing a large bump on her head to her camera. "I fell to the ground, and now this giant goose egg is forming."
At the time of her initial claim, the NYPD confirmed to PEOPLE that the man was arrested and Kate "suffered injuries to the left side of her face,” per a police statement.

Earlier this month, on Feb. 3, Kate appeared in New York Supreme Criminal Court to testify. She marked the long-awaited trial with an Instagram post featuring photos of her posed outside the Manhattan courthouse.
"Halley Kate Court…. 2 years in the making. Today we serve justice & serve looks 🤝," she captioned the post.
The following day, Kate took to her Instagram Stories to reflect on the day, revealing that she initially felt anxiety about appearing in court.

"In all honesty, I really didn't want to testify because I was very anxious to go literally speak to a man who assaulted me on the streets," she said. "This man is also still free and who's to say what he's capable of," she wrote over a picture of herself taken at the courthouse."That being said, I feel like it would be wrong to allow him to walk freely on the streets," Kate concluded.
