Sacred Heart Hospital is getting some new faces!
It’s been more than 15 years since fans said goodbye to Scrubs, which ran for nine seasons from 2001 to 2010, and now, the beloved sitcom is getting a reboot.
Set to premiere on ABC on Feb. 25, the revival will feature the return of several original cast members and characters, including Zach Braff as Dr. John "J.D." Dorian, Donald Faison as Dr. Christopher Turk, Sarah Chalke as Dr. Elliot Reid, John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox, Judy Reyes as head nurse Carla Espinosa, Phill Lewis as Hooch and Robert Maschio as Dr. Todd 'The Todd' Quinlan.
It will also welcome in a new generation of interns who, alongside the old guard, will “navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way,” according to the official logline.
Here's everything to know about the new cast members and characters joining the Scrubs reboot.

Saturday Night Live alum Vanessa Bayer is joining the Scrubs reboot as Sibby, Sacred Heart’s HR and wellness manager.
During a January 2026 interview with Esquire, Braff shared some insight into Bayer’s character.
“She’s got a very thick file on The Todd, and she also looks out, as they do in real hospitals, to make sure that the interns aren’t being worked to death," Braff said. "She’s also just hilarious. Everything that woman says makes me laugh.”
Bayer has yet to speak publicly about her involvement in the project, but she did celebrate the news of her casting on Instagram in October 2025, sharing a photo of the announcement and several celebratory emojis.
Since leaving SNL in 2017 following a seven-season run, the comedian has appeared in a handful of TV shows and movies, including Freakier Friday, Pixar's Hopper and FX’s What We Do in the Shadows.
In addition to Scrubs, she also announced in January 2026 that she booked a role in Nick Kroll’s upcoming Netflix series A Hundred Percent.

Joel Kim Booster is coming on board as Dr. Eric Park, an attending at Sacred Heart. Booster grew up watching the original series and has spoken about how surreal it’s been to film the reboot.
“I watched the s--- out of that show when I was growing up," he told the New York Post during a December 2025 interview. "It was syndicated everywhere when I was in high school. I definitely have seen every episode, but they’re all out of order."
He continued, “It’s so interesting because it’s bringing up all these memories. It’s crazy to be a part of a show that I watched for so long and is so beloved too.”
Booster added that the revival is a “return to form” and captures the spirit of Scrubs’ early seasons.
“I think they’ve struck the perfect balance of servicing all of those old elements that the fans fell in love with in the first place, while introducing a lot of new elements that make the show feel fresh and current,” the actor said.
Booster is best known for the 2022 Hulu film Fire Island, which he wrote and starred in. He also stars in Apple TV’s Loot alongside Maya Rudolph and most recently voiced Romance Saja in the hit Netflix musical KPop Demon Hunters.

Jacob Dudman joins the cast as Asher Green, a medical intern from Britain who is squeamish around needles and blood.
Making Asher English was an intentional choice, Braff told Esquire.
"That gave us an interesting way to have some commentary on him digesting the American health-care system," he said. "Why an English kid ended up working in an American hospital is revealed throughout the course of the season. He’s a bit nervous and behind the rest in terms of his confidence and his ability."
The young English actor has already racked up an impressive list of film and TV credits, including the 2025 film The Choral, the BBC’s A List and Netflix projects like The Stranger, The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die and Fate: The Winx Saga.

David Gridley steps into the Scrubs world as Blake Lewis, a 35-year-old medical intern. His character's age is a big theme in the revival, with Braff explaining to Esquire, “One of the things we wanted to focus on is that some people get around to being interns later in life.”
“We’re going to be telling a story about [Blake] that’s slowly being revealed throughout the course of the season,” Braff continued. “He has a chip on his shoulder and doesn’t like being treated like a kid.”
Gridley is no stranger to network television, having previously appeared in episodes of ABC’s High Potential and The Rookie, CBS’ FBI: International and The CW’s All American.

Layla Mohammadi is set to portray Amara Hadi, one of two new surgical interns. Braff described her character as someone who had “a very sheltered life.”
He added, “She’s very innocent, super smart, but had sort of a homeschooled existence. She hasn’t had a lot of life experience other than studying.”
Mohammadi has acted in an episode of HBO’s The Sex Lives of College Girls, ABC’s The Goldbergs and three episodes of Paramount+’s Lioness.
