Michael J. Fox has entered the Shrinking universe!
On Tuesday, Dec. 30, Apple TV shared a preview of the upcoming season of Shrinking with the release of the show's season 3 trailer, complete with appearances from returning players Harrison Ford, Jason Segel and Jessica Williams — as well as a glimpse at Fox, 64, as he eyes his series debut.
In the footage, Fox's character bumps into Dr. Paul Rhoades (Ford, 83) as the pair sit down next to each other in an apparent medical office, when the series newcomer asks him what he's in for. "Parkinson's. You?" Paul says, before the Fox's character quips, "Just a haircut."

Jason Segel and Harrison Ford in 'Shrinking' season 3
The 11-episode season will see the return of stars Ford, Segel, Williams, Christa Miller, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Jeff Daniels will also be joining for the latest installment. Additionally, Damon Wayans Jr., co-creator Brett Goldstein, Wendie Malick and Cobie Smulders are set to return as guest stars.
The trailer kicks off with Ford entering a room and proclaiming that "The GOAT is back," as Jimmy Laird (Segel, 45) and Dr. Gaby Evans (Williams, 36) celebrate his arrival. Jimmy then reveals that his daughter Alice (Maxwell, 24) will be heading to college in Connecticut to play soccer.
After a few peeks at his life now, Ford's character tells Jimmy that he knows he wants "more" from it. "Maybe happiness is not this impossible thing," Jimmy says. "You just have to choose it."
The clip offers a few other glimpses at race cars and apparent dinner gatherings (featuring Daniels, 70), as Paul gives his own words of advice: "You just have to suck the marrow out of this amazing life."

Jessica Williams in 'Shrinking' season 3
The streaming platform announced the premiere date of the third installment of the show in October, along with first look photos of stars Ford, Segel and Williams on set. The images showed Jimmy and Paul back together, Gaby dancing with Derrick (Wayans), and a few other series regulars getting back into the swing of things.
Shrinking, which first premiered in 2023, was created by Goldstein and Segel alongside Bill Lawrence. It follows Segel's "grieving therapist" character as he makes "huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives" while breaking the rules, telling clients exactly what he thinks and ultimately ignoring his ethics, per an official synopsis.

Earlier this year, Fox opened up to PEOPLE about how his guest arc on the series came to be, explaining that he called up Lawrence, 57, his former Spin City colleague, once he saw that Ford's character had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Fox himself was diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease in 1991.
“I said, ‘You did a show about Parkinson’s, and you didn’t call me?’ And he said, ‘Oh, you want to do it?’ And I said, ‘I’d love to do it,’ ” Fox said. “So he said, ‘Let me think about it, see what I can do.’ So he went to work on it and came up with this concept, it's really good."
While the Back to the Future alum didn't want to reveal too much about his stint on the show, he shared that he does play someone who has Parkinson’s. “It was the first time ever I get to show up on set, and I didn’t have to worry about am I too tired or coughing or anything,” he said, adding: “I just do it. It was really good, because for the moments when I say, ‘I’m not going to be able to do this,’ then I say, ‘Well, I’ll just deal with how I can’t do it in the scene.’ And you get through it.”

At the 2025 Emmys, Shrinking earned a total of seven nominations, including Ford's first-ever Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He previously told PEOPLE that he takes his portrayal of Paul "deadly f------ seriously."
“There's no intention to make it into a joke,” Ford said at the time. “But there are people that absorb these kinds of experiences with grace and courage and a little bit of wisdom. And that is not to say that some people do not.”
“It's just to say that this is a person particularly equipped to communicate what it is that it's like, and that is something that I feel that is worth sharing with our audience," he added of the character.
Shrinking season 3 premieres on Jan. 28. Seasons 1-2 are currently streaming on Apple TV.
