Brandon Barash claims ex-wife Kirsten Storms is experiencing a mental health crisis and is concerned about her ability to parent their 12-year-old daughter

He filed an emergency restraining order against the General Hospital actress

He claims she has faced housing instability, financial struggles and accusations of substance abuse in recent years

Days of Our Lives actor Brandon Barash filed for an emergency restraining order against ex-wife Kirsten Storms.

A judge approved Barash's request and agreed that the General Hospital actress is in a "mental health crisis," according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Barash, 44, also requested that Storms, 42, receive a mental health evaluation.

The former couple married in 2013 and, five months later, welcomed their first child together. They announced their divorce in 2016. Both moved separately to Tennessee; Storms announced her move in July 2025.

Barash's filing, which he initially submitted to the court in December 2025, comes months after Storms contacted him in May 2025, allegedly saying she was "experiencing delusions and hallucinations," per Barash's petition.

He claims she said she "didn't think she should have the child for her parenting time," per the documents reviewed by PEOPLE. Barash alleges his current wife, Isabella, helped Storms get hospitalized. There, she was placed on a psychiatric hold, according to the petition, but Storms did not acknowledge the event afterward.

He also claims in the filing that a friend of the Zenon actress told him she had "repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren't there." He alleges that the same friend told him she believes the actress is abusing Adderall and other substances.

Barash further claims in the filing that in recent years, Storms has been living out of hotels or staying with friends and did not have a permanent home between September 2024 and June 2025. He says that she claimed people were "following her and the child to her room."

She later moved into an apartment and claimed to Barash in November 2025 that people were breaking into her apartment, removing things and placing them into her car to "mess with her."

Barash also alleges he loaned her $5,000, her car is about to be repossessed, and her landlord has sued her for eviction, according to the petition. He claims that her current "financial issues" cause him "great concern [for her] ability to adequately care" for their 12-year-old daughter Harper Rose. She has been allowed supervised visitation with their daughter.

PEOPLE reached out to reps for Barash and Storms for comment.

Storms shared an Instagram post that she was diagnosed with an aneurysm on the right side of her brain in October 2025. In December 2025, she shared on Instagram that she is holding off on the brain surgery to remove the aneurysm because "it's not at the mandatory surgery size."

Her neurosurgeon made the discovery during a follow-up scan for a cyst she had removed from her brain in 2021. She had "a very large cyst that had split into two" removed from the lower part of her brain and was causing frequent pain.

Additionally, in recent weeks, she has posted to her Instagram account claiming that someone is trying to break into her apartment and that someone is trying to hack her cellphone.
