Jessica Collins Remembers Her Iconic Role on 'Loving' and Shares New Book Details

Jessica Collins recently took to Instagram to reflect on her early days in daytime television, sharing memories from her first soap opera role with fans.

Collins posted a video montage from her time on the ABC soap opera Loving, captioning the post, “Flashing way back my ‘Loving’ days. ✨” with an accompanying video montage from her days on the ABC soap opera.

Collins began her acting career in 1991 when she joined the cast of Loving, created by Agnes Nixon and Douglas Marlan. She portrayed the role of Dinah Lee Mayberry Alden from 1991 until 1994, departing the series shortly before its cancellation in 1995.

In 1992, Collins also brought Dinah to sister soap All My Children as part of a crossover storyline.

Collins later returned to daytime television in 2011 when she joined The Young and the Restless as Avery Bailey Clark, a role she played until 2015.

Collin’s made her feature film debut in 1997 in Leprechaun 4: In Space. Her most recent film credit is Open House in 2010.

Her most recent television credits include appearances on 9-1-1, Grey’s Anatomy, Heartstrings and Acapulco.

For her role on The Young and the Restless, Collins won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2016.

Fans shared supportive messages in the comment section. One user wrote, “You were the best character on it ❤️” With a second user adding, “Love these outfits!!” and a third fan said, “And you’re still loveable!❤️”

In addition to her acting work, Collins also recently announced her first upcoming published book, Where’s Big Dog? A Story of Loss and Love that she co-wrote with Lisa Melamed and is illustrated by Cara Naude.

The book is officially described as When we lose our pets–and it always happens too soon–it’s devastating. Where’s Big Dog? takes us on a journey to “find” them again: in the clouds in the sky, in the trunk of a tree, in the swirl of a marble countertop. Thoughtfully illustrated and sensitively told, this story is a reminder that, even after goodbye, your best friend will always be by your side.
