Moulton noted that the custom engagement ring is already in the works

The couple also revealed the name of their baby girl, who is due in October

Hakeem Moulton popped the question!

Moulton, who was a contestant on The Bachelorette season 21 and Bachelor in Paradise season 10, proposed to his pregnant girlfriend, Monica, after facing pressure from The Golden Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise alum Kathy Swarts during the couple's joint appearance on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast.

In the first part of the two-part episode, released on Thursday, April 23, Swarts wasted no time and told Moulton that he needed to propose.

"I'm going to give you an option right now. I want you to listen carefully, I'm being your mother here. Let's reframe this whole thing. Why don't you, right now, get on one knee on this podcast and ask that beautiful woman to marry you, right here," Swarts said. "I'm deadly serious."

Moulton pointed out that he and Monica are already planning to get married, having revealed earlier in the podcast that they're "probably going to do a courthouse [ceremony] really quickly so she can go on my insurance." To them, that's the most "practical" option with a baby on the way.

"I don't wanna hear about insurance," Swarts said. "I want you on your knee. I'll give you the words if you can't come up with them."

The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos chimed in, "Kathy, you with can't do this to them! You've got to stop."

Moulton then turned to Monica, took her by the hand, and asked, "Will you marry me?"

Monica replied, "I would love to," as Swarts and Vassos cheered.

"Congratulations! She said yes!" Swarts said, adding, "Hakim, I'm going to tell you, this is our first proposal on our podcast. So you guys, yay you. You're now officially engaged, congrats."

Moulton revealed that he eventually plans to propose in a romantic way, and is already working on getting the engagement ring.

"I'm actually looking into getting a ring for her and all that. Obviously, I'm doing it more on the secret side. So I'm getting kind of a ring put together for her. Because I also have another diamond ring as well, so we're gonna repurpose those, and then we're gonna add to it as well."

Monica explained that her divorced mother repurposed her wedding ring and gave it to her as one of her graduation gifts. Moulton plans to use its diamonds in the new engagement ring. Monica said, "I've actually given it to him, and I've said, 'Use it how you want.' "

Moulton and Monica announced that they were expecting their first child on April Fools' Day, April 1. In a joint Instagram reel of the couple displaying Monica's positive pregnancy test and friends' reactions to a sonogram, Moulton wrote, "April fools or nah…? Baby coming October 2026 💙🩷."

The couple shared a gender reveal video on Instagram on April 6. In the clip, Moulton and Monica removed a pink and blue bundt cake topper, exposing a pink baby shower rattle with the text, "It's a girl," next to a small pink bow graphic.

They unveiled their baby's name on the podcast: "Marley Marie."

Monica explained the meaning behind the two-part first name. Marley is after Bob Marley as a nod to Moulton's Jamaican heritage. Meanwhile, Marie is after Monica's middle name. The baby's middle name will be Bliss, which is Moulton's mother's maiden name.
