Gina Carano is stepping back into the Octagon — could *The Mandalorian* be next?

It's been five years since Carano was fired from the *Star Wars* series after controversial social media posts, but Disney and Lucasfilm settled Carano's lawsuit against them last summer. In a statement on the matter, a Lucasfilm spokesperson said the company was looking forward to possible future collaborations with Carano, and the fighter-turned-actor is now sharing that she's caught up with *Mandalorian* creator Jon Favreau and Lucasfilm chief creative officer Dave Filoni.

“I think it was, ‘let’s touch base,’” Carano told *The Hollywood Reporter* of the January Zoom. “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni were two people that I always respected, and we went through two seasons together, and we had a great relationship. And even during everything that was happening, Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau were never the bad guys to me.”

Carano didn't want to disclose the discussed topics, only revealing that it was an "important conversation" to "make sure everybody was good" and "to mend whatever."

In the first two seasons of *The Mandalorian*, Carano played mercenary Cara Dune. But she was fired in February of 2021 after sharing a number of inflammatory posts on social media, including comparing having different political opinions to being Jewish during the Holocaust, sharing misinformation about COVID-19, and mocking the use of pronouns.

*Mandalorian* star Pedro Pascal has been outspoken in his support for the LGBTQ+ community and his transgender sister, Lux. Carano previously alleged that Pascal encouraged her to "put #transrights" on her social media to squash the blowback and get people to "leave you alone." Carano declined, insisting "that's not my style."

While she's reconnected with Favreau and Filoni, Carano told *THR *that she hasn't spoken to Pascal since their costar Carl Weathers died in February 2024. "Me and Pedro don't keep in touch," she shared.

** has reached out to representatives for Pascal, Favreau, and Filoni for comment.

Carano's chat comes ahead of her MMA return fight against Ronda Rousey and the big screen release of Favreau and Pascal's *The Mandalorian & Grogu*, which she hopes does well at the box office.

“Jon Favreau directed it, and he’s a good man. He’s a great storyteller," she said. "And I would really like to see all of this turmoil within the *Star Wars *fandom kind of come to an end. It just feels like it’s a never-ending war.”

Carano added that "I love peace," and she wants "all parties" to be happy so that "we can move on."
