Ellen DeGeneres is making a return to Hollywood in a big way.
Two months after PEOPLE confirmed that the former talk show host, 68, would be splitting her time between California and England after having relocated full-time to the English countryside, DeGeneres is taking on a new project.
The comedian is set to return as the voice of Dory for a new short film set within the Finding Nemo universe, Deadline reported on Friday, April 24.
Production is just starting on the short and no other details on the project are available yet, per Deadline. PEOPLE has reached out to Pixar for comment.

DeGeneres confirmed the news by sharing a screenshot of Deadline's report on her Instagram, captioning the post, "Excited about this."
Fans met the forgetful blue tang fish named Dory in 2003's Finding Nemo, which follows a clownfish named Marlin (Albert Brooks) as he searches the ocean for his missing son Nemo (Alexander Gould).
The film would go on to become the highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office in 2003, according to Box Office Mojo, and win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 76th Academy Awards.
Finding Dory, the sequel that followed Dory on her search for her long-lost parents, was released in 2016. The film grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office, per Box Office Mojo.
A source told PEOPLE in November 2024 that DeGeneres had moved to the U.K. after finding a house she fell in love with.

"Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after," the source said.
Soon after, DeGeneres would begin sharing glimpses of her new life abroad with her wife, Portia de Rossi, on social media.
DeGeneres admitted in a July 2025 interview with the BBC that she was considering new projects.

"I want to have fun, I want to do something. I do like my chickens, but I'm a little bit bored," she said.
An insider told PEOPLE in February that she and her wife were ready to put down new roots in the U.S.
"She's not moving back to the U.S. but will continue to split her time between both the U.K. and Montecito, [Calif.]," the insider told PEOPLE.
