Demi Lovato knows how to have a good time.
Ahead of the pop star's upcoming It's Not That Deep Tour, she's partnering with cactus water brand Caliwater to launch its new blood orange flavor — which she tells PEOPLE works "great" in a mocktail. Lovato's been open in the past about her sobriety journey, and now she's sharing some tips for how to party without alcohol.
"I've just become so accustomed to it that it's second nature for me," says the "Here All Night" singer, 33,. "I haven't drank so long, so I don't even remember what it was like going out drinking."

These days, Lovato focuses on surrounding herself with "good vibes" and "the right people" while out on the town. "I would never go out without my friends. I think that would probably make me a little anxious," she explains.
"I like to avoid any social anxiety as much as possible, so making sure you have the right people around you, and of course you have to have some sort of beverage in your hand, whether it's a water or a Caliwater or something else," continues Lovato. "I love a mocktail, and you know what? [Caliwater is] great for making mocktails, too."

The "Fast" performer's partnership with the brand (co-founded by Vanessa Hudgens and Oliver Trevena) feels natural, as she's "loved Caliwater since the beginning."
"Cactus water is so amazing because it's rich in antioxidants, it's very hydrating," says Lovato. "I drink it daily because one, I'm just a huge fan of the product, but two, it's so good for you."
"It's great for me because I'm about to go on tour, and I'll need to hydrate my body, stay hydrated, and it's going to be perfect for that," adds the Grammy-nominated artist, whose It's Not That Deep Tour kicks off in April and serves as promotion for her latest album, It's Not That Deep, released in October.
