Chris Pratt shares his reaction to Aubrey Plaza's pregnancy news.
The actors starred together on Parks and Rec from 2009-2015.
Pratt said Plaza will be a "fantastic mother."
Chris Pratt has some kind words to share about his Parks and Recreation costar Aubrey Plaza amid news she's going to be a first-time mom.
The actor spoke to E! News about Plaza's pregnancy news after she revealed she's expecting a baby with her partner Christopher Abbott earlier this month. Joking that he was aware of her announcement before it hit the news cycle, Pratt, 46, said Plaza, 41, is "going to do great."
"She's going to be a fantastic mother," he insisted at the Beverage Forum in California on Tuesday. "She's a very caring person."
Pratt and Plaza played Andy Dwyer and April Ludgate, respectively, on the beloved NBC sitcom from 2009 to 2015. The characters got married in season 3 and welcomed their first child together during the series finale.
As a dad himself, Pratt — who shares Lyla, 5, Eloise, 3, and Ford, 16 months, with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, and son Jack, 13, with ex-wife Anna Faris — knows Plaza is in for quite the ride.
"It's gonna be an amazing chapter for her," he shared. "We're all very excited for her."

Plaza is coming off a tough year following the death of her husband, independent filmmaker Jeff Baena, in January 2025. Baena and Plaza met in 2011, began dating, and were married a full decade later. She starred in most of the films he wrote and directed, including Life After Beth, The Little Hours, Joshy, and Spin Me Round.
Though the two separated before his death, Plaza told her fellow Parks and Rec costar Amy Poehler in August that life had become "a daily struggle," though she was "grateful to be moving through the world."
Plaza shared her relationship status with Abbott, 40, while announcing their pregnancy news.
They have known each other for a few years, with the pair playing creative collaborators who develop a dangerous mutual attraction in 2020's twisty Black Bear. Plaza also co-produced the film, which received acclaim when it premiered at Sundance. Plaza and Abbott also co-starred in the Off Broadway revival of John Patrick Shanley's raucous romantic drama Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, which ran from from October 2023 to January 2024.

Of her future as a parent, Plaza told the SmartLess podcast earlier this month, "I've always wanted to see what that's all about, you know? It just seems so interesting, that whole thing."
