Star Brenda Song tells PEOPLE that her partner "loves" starring in the show and is giving the team "pitches" for ways for him to be involved "all the time"

Macaulay Culkin is always ready to get even more involved in Running Point.

His longtime partner Brenda Song stars in the Netflix series with Kate Hudson, and he's made appearances in both of the show's seasons so far — but it's not enough.

"Literally, he loves being on the show so much," Song, 38, tells PEOPLE in an interview with Hudson and creator Mindy Kaling.

Hudson says it's "so funny" how much Culkin, 45, "loves" being in the show. Kaling can't really believe it. "That can't be true," Kaling says. "He wants to sit around for hours?"

"Oh, yeah. He pitches it," Hudson, 47, says.

Song reveals that Culkin, with whom she shares sons Dakota, 5, and Carson, 3, "pitches [ideas] all the time" for the show. "I took Scotty MacArthur and [showrunner] Dave Stassen, who are fellow huge football fans, we went to the [LA Rams] opening game, and he sat next to Dave the whole time and pitched ideas for his character."

"I'm like, 'Babe, Dave is not working right now. He's watching,'" Song recalls. "He goes, 'But I have great ideas.' He loves it. He's already pitching a season 3 cameo."

Kaling suggests that Culkin could play a "season ticket holder we cut to a lot to have reactions," and Song says her partner of eight years is down for anything.

"He loves it," she says of the show. "They talk about how he keeps getting closer and closer onto the court, and that next time he'll just be a ball boy. He loves this ongoing bit. He talks to Dave and Ike [Barinholtz] about it all the time."

"We feel very lucky to have him," Kaling says. "That he would like to waste his time by coming on the show. Yeah, it's great for us."

Culkin makes a low-key appearance in season 2 of Running Point, during a flashback of Ali (Song) and Isla (Hudson) during their college days, as they watched My Girl. Later, he appeared as a fan with courtside seats who had to uproot Dyson Gibbs (Uche Agada), who was accidentally in his spot.
