Beyond the Gates is ending the year in style by welcoming R&B star Kenny Lattimore to the CBS soap, with the series releasing first-look photos teasing a special New Year’s Eve performance.
Episode 199 is set to air on December 30, 2025. In the episode, special guest star Lattimore performs during a New Year's Eve celebration. This follows from the series patriarch Clifton Davis performing his classic song, Never Can Say Goodbye, during the soap opera’s Christmas eve celebration.

The soap released a first-look photo showing Lattimore performing at what appears to be an event held at Uptown bar.

Elsewhere in the episode, the Dupree sisters, Dani (Karla Mosley) and Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), receive devastating news. Fans have speculated the moment may involve the revelation about Anita’s (Tamara Tunie) health, though the show has not confirmed details.
Meanwhile, Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice's (Ernestine Johnson Morrison) friendship takes a turn, as an earlier New Year’s preview revealed the two will be pulled into each others romantic orbit.

Lattimore is the latest in a series of guest star appearances during the soaps inaugural season. These have included R&B, soul and gospel singer-songwriter Keke Wyatt, international beauty expert Damone Roberts, The Young and the Restless star Bryton James, The Bold and the Beautiful star Thorsten Kay, and The Real Housewives of Potomac stars Karen Huger, Dr. Wendy Osefo, and Gizell Bryant.
